Newly favoured destination near Cebu

Last summer, after making a two-day tour in the known destinations in Bohol, when in my life I haven't set my foot yet, me and my friends have decided to try another kind of adventure that just lasted for a day. Actually, we were just boarding on a rented boat for the trip and do the "island-hopping" our way...literally, it was not really island hopping because we just simply spare a few minutes savoring the beauty of the islets and islands that we've passed through on our way to our real destination-Pandanon Island. What we did was just make a stop in every island, take pictures, pose here and there until we get satiated. On one of our stops, we were not really able to dock near the island (Hilutungan island) because, according to our guide, we are not supposed to disturb the fish sanctuary near it...

Anyway, as we reached our final destination, all the heat of the sun and the pained butts were really paid off when we got there. The place was breathtakingly beautiful with its long sand bar and a white sand. It was worth every penny of our adventure. Even on a high sun, since we got there nearly high noon, every one really made a dip in the cool, clear waters. The place is somewhat yet virginal since nothing on its natural beauty has been altered yet. When the tide is high, you will notice that the island was just a small one but as we departed four hours after we arrived, the tide is now getting lower ang island seemed everlasting wherein it seemed no end of it. We tried to go on the othe side of the island and tried to locate its tail and there we made again another stop and filled our curiosity. We go down from the boat and walk over the sandbar that lengthened the island and there we were mesmerized by the beauty of the sea creatures. There we found different kind of sea species like starfish of different kinds and shapes, seashells, sea urchins and even fossils. We picked some of which, especially the edible ones and then kicked for home.

Appreciating the nature once in a while seemed healthy and helpful in one's being specially after all the stress at work. BFN

chicken stix
chicken stix

This recipe is so easy to prepare and is very much favored by kids because they consider it as finger food. It is so delicious and soft to bite especially when eaten immediately while it's hot. It can go well with any type of dips, may it be tomato/banana ketchup, mayonnaise, sweet and sour sauce or hot sauce.

Here's how:

1. Prepare the following ingredients:

  • 1/2 k. chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • a pinch of black pepper (optional)
  • minced garlic
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 bread crumbs
  • 2 pieces eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cup of cooking oil

2. Mix the first four ingredients, then set aside for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

3. Once marinated, roll the chicken strips individually on the flour.

4. Dip the flour-coated chicken in the beaten egg.

5. Roll the chicken strips on the bread crumb then drop it directly and individually in the heated oil and cook until golden brown.

6. Once cooked, place it on a clean tissue paper to drain the excess oil then serve.

chocolate hills,bohol

Bohol is in the central part of the Philippines and is known for its many attractions. One of them is the Chocolate Hills which is one of the nature's wonder. They look like mole hills, or some say, a woman's breast. They are uniform in shape and mostly between 30 to 50 meters high. Each hill is covered with grass and best appreciated during summer season in the Philippines, wherein the grasses turns brown.

Another known attraction that Bohol can offer is its white beaches in Panglao island. Some would say that it is a paradise. It is known forits quite beach resorts and several great wide variety of dive sites. It is one of the old towns in Bohol and history says that it was where the Spaniards went after an unfortunate experience in the nearby island.

How to get there

If you are from outside the Philippines, there are directs flights from NAIA terminal to Tagbilaran, Bohol via Philippines Airlines (visit their website http://www.philippineairlines.com). Another way is taking a flight to Cebu and hail a taxi that will bring you to the port area and take a boat ride to Tubigon or Tagbilaran Bohol. Either way, the boat ride is such a pleasant experience for you will also be able to appreciate the nearby islands that you can pass by.

Once you arrive, there are plenty of tourist guides and tourist operators in the area who will be happy to bring you to these destinations. Most of them offers a whole day tour for the island for a cost of less than a hundred dollars.

It is best that before you go there, please book for a hotel in advance so tha you will have a certain place to sleep for the night for most of the times, the hotels are fully booked.

The new & natural way to have a beautiful skin

The new & natural way to have a beautiful skin

Not all of us is gifted with a beautiful skin. Most of us needs to consult the dermatologists in order to address skin problems, especially dry skin. Recently, I did try a lot of natural methods just to achieve a supple, soft and beautiful skin. At once, I tried lemon with honey and then applied it to my arms, legs and face. Yes, it did help a little but I think you need to maintain this regimen more often.

After trying all sorts and comparing results with the use of some commercial lotions, none of them has satisfied me. I did remember, once in a long long time ago, I had a friend who was so vain. She told me to try using olive oil, but I just let it pass. This time, I tried it and alas, it really is true.

Here's how:

1. On day time after taking a bath, aplly small amount of olive oil on your arms, legs and face. Let it stay for a few hours.

2. At night time before going to sleep, take a bath again but do not overdo with lathering so that a little amount of oil will stay on your skin for the night. (just like a moisturizer)

In the morning, you'll see the result immediately.

It's not only practical and cheap, it does wonders to your scars too.
